"Foreward" is a portmanteau - mashing Foreword and Forward into one word felt right. While it is the intro to our album, it's also a reminder to move forward as a band artistically. In previous work, we over thought everything and it turned our writing into a box that we couldn't get out of. Funny enough, the main guitar chords and lead was something we wrote back in 2011 for the first EP, but we couldn't find a way to "fill it out" using our previous writing style. We couldn't move forward with it. But after rehashing it, it only felt appropriate to use it as the intro to the album as a reminder of where we came from stylistically. The lyrics are a reminder to ourselves that no matter how alone you feel during the creative process, you will come out on the other side on fire and with more drive than ever to just move forward.
